360 Virtual Reality Video Shoot

This week I ad the privilege to be part of an amazing project organised by the Museum of Collingwood. In collaboration with the Mountain Goat Film company I was the assigned underwater videographer using a 360 GoPro Fusion for a virtual Reality shooting of the Mary Ward shipwreck. The Mary Ward grounded just off Craigleith on Milligan's reef during calm water on November 24th 1872. Shortly after midnight, the weather began to turn and by morning a fierce storm was blowing. Eight desperate men made for shore in a life boat, but were quickly capsized by the giant waves. Three fishing vessels launched from Thornbury and were able to rescue the remaining 19 passengers, before the Mary Ward broke up and sank.

This footage will serve as a great educational tool for visitors at the museum who would like to dive the shipwreck in virtual reality. For those of you that would like to make an actual dive of a shipwreck please get in touch!
