Learning to scuba dive made to look easy - Natural Divers

Congratulations to Josh and Marc for completing the PADI Open Water course with us. These guys made it look easy, nailing every skill first time and grasping neutral buoyancy right off the bat. This week the weather has been quite variable (after 6 weeks of incredibly calm and hot conditions), with winds blowing in all directions and thunder storms. We had to work around this, diving in choppier conditions with current and a significant thermocline (from 22oC down to 15oC). This exposed these guys to Ocean like conditions, preparing them for a planned dive adventure to Sri Lanka. We wish you guys many incredible dive adventures and look forward to hearing about them in the future.

Muskellunge! A surprise visitor.

What a treat! While out leading a refresher dive for these two 14 year olds at our house reef (Kingswood Shoal), we were buzzed by a big Muskellunge or Muskie Esox masquinongy. This fish is the largest of the Pike family, and are typically 28–48 in (71–122 cm) long and weigh 15–36 lb (6.8–16.3 kg), though some have reached up to 6 ft (1.8 m) and almost 70 lb (32 kg). The fish are a light silver, brown, or green, with dark vertical stripes on the flank, which may tend to break up into spots. Muskies are ambush predators who will swiftly bite their prey and then swallow it head first. They eat all varieties of fish present in their ecosystem (including other muskellunge), along with the occasi

Superb learning conditions!

Congrats to these guys for gaining there OW certification with us! We had a real blast, and it was a very enjoyable 3 days of diving with light winds and a very balmy and clear 22oC lake. These guys made it look easy and breezed through the skills, leaving plenty of dive time to enjoy what it means to be diving. We were able to ditch the hoods and dive in simple 5mm wetsuits and still be comfy after a 45 minute excursion. We wish you plenty of fun and dive adventures to come and welcome you back here any time for Wreck diving or the PADI Advanced course!

Perfect dive conditions!

A big congratulations for Olivia and Julie of Orillia on gaining their PADI Open Water certification with us. Things were not always a breeze but they focussed in and did amazing. we were certainly blessed with incredible weather conditions, very light winds, sunny skies, great visibility and underwater temperatures around 20oC. This made for nice long dives, plenty of time to hone in neutral buoyancy. Well done girls! We wish you many incredible dive adventures to come.

Advanced Open Water training!

We were blessed with great weather for Justin PADI Advanced OW course last week. It was a privilege to help Justin become a very confident and comfortable diver in preparation to a potential career in commercial diving. We practiced Navigation drills on every dive, honed buoyancy skills, and I got him to plan, lead and execute a dive, showing great competence in gas management, environmental awareness and Navigation! We wish you good luck on your new passion for diving and career advancement. Hope to see you back here soon!
