First Charter of the Season!

It is always a great pleasure to guide divers on our favourite two shipwrecks, the impressive Mapledawn and the wooden schooner Marquette. We were blessed with sunny skies and light SE winds making conditions at the Mapledawn uncharacteristically perfect. This was also a great trip for repeat guest Neil and his son to test out there drysuits in relatively shallow and easy conditions, while April, one of last years OW students toughed it out in a 7mm wetsuit. The lake has been slower to warm up this season, with just 8oC around the deeper resting propeller of the Mapledawn and 13oC for the rest of the ship. We look forward to seeing you guys back up here to dive the Thomas Cranage and Elton 3

Eight desperate men made for shore in a life boat, but were quickly capsized by the giant waves. Three fishing vessels launched from Thornbury and were able to rescue the remaining 19 passengers, before the Mary Ward broke
